The C8C and BX8C are cardioid pattern speakers which means that they are speakers designed with very controlled directivity, minimising reflection effects to the sides and back, focusing on output towards the front. This means that it is well optimised for a sweet spot, making it conducive for listeners whose house may not be the best treated.

Do you need the bass stand? The answer depends on what SPLs you usually listen at. C8C alone will dig very deep into the bass, and with the daisy chained BX8C, the bass stand mainly produces improvements in directivity at low frequencies. We advise customers to get the C8C first, and then decide later on whether they want to add the BX8C.

Both the C8C and BX8C are active monitors, and come with Hypex amplifiers. The DAC section cannot be bypassed, and any analogue signal into these speakers will be converted back to digital before the speaker's DAC.

Note that the BX8C works with the C8C only.
