Buchardt Audio's E50-S passive speaker is the Danish company's flagship passive bookshelf speaker offering. It is entirely crafted in Denmark, and features custom Satori teXtreme woofers, Scan-Speak textile dome tweeters, Jantzen Audio & Duelund Coherent Audio components. The wood speaker cabinets also feature precise finger-joints, a testament to their premium build quality.
Sonically, the E50-S is a very euphonic sounding speaker. It delivers a remarkably open staging, and truly makes the speakers feel like they "disappear". It focuses on the air and space between each instrument. Compared to the E50, the E50-S digs less into the sub bass, and is less linear in terms of overall tonal balance. Despite that, the E50-S separates itself from the E50 by offering an entirely new window to your music. With 6dB more sensitivity over the E50, the E50-S can be driven by tube amplifiers with 15W or more power.
While it is more sensitive than the E50, the E50-S's crossover is actually more complex, and also removes all resistors in crossover for purity.
