final's latest DX4000CL headphones are very likely the best reference closed-back headphone you can find in today's market. With a tuning that closely resembles the tonality of active studio monitors from the likes of JBL and Genelec, the DX4000CL has a natural, spacious and accurate sound. Excellent detail in the treble can be found, with well-spaced transients and immense speed.
Compared to the DX3000CL, the DX4000CL has less bass, with an even-keeled treble and very speaker-like midrange. We don't like to throw around the word "reference", but this really is one.
