VERSE represents LAiV's debut into a desktop all-in-one unit featuring 1.1W of power and a discrete R2R heart. It's so much more than that however, the VERSE features also native 1-bit processing capability with an integrated sample rate converter, allowing listeners to resample PCM files to DSD if desired. SRC options include Sharp and Slow filters, with tweakble levels of how much upsampling is performed, allowing you to find exactly what settings work best for you. In addition, LAiV also cleverly blends 1-bit DSD processing as a filter option, allowing you to experience a totally different presentation from PCM music. DSD mode sounds more weighted with more depth, extracting greater soul and nuance.

As a whole when used as an all-in-one, VERSE is bodied and warm, however never soft sounding or pillowy like many other R2R DACs can be. It delivers great punch and slam, in a way that is very musically engaging. A great option for someone looking for a compact all-in-one to drive IEMs to insensitive headphones.
